Bamboo gardening is interesting and fun. Bamboo plants add elegance, style and character to any garden. It is very easy to grow and maintain bamboo plants. Going about this in the right manner, the following a few steps will do the trick.
As the first step, it is important to choose an area in your garden that has excellent drainage. The dirt has to be allowed to dry between watering schedules in order to ensure the bamboo plants are healthy. Clay like or clumpy soil is bad for bamboo garden. A soil rich in fertiliser and which drains well is ideal.
The second step involves ensuring the area is at least one foot more on all sides in relation to the number of bamboo plants you are planning to grow. Dig the hole, using a garden tool like the Wolf-Garten Multi-Star LL-M, to the size of the bamboo pit. As you start planting your bamboo plants, keep the buds carefully undisturbed. Air must be completely eliminated from the root balls. This is the stage where you must add fertilisers to the soil to enrich it. As you fill in the soil after planting, make sure the ground level is slightly higher than the top of the soil filled in.
After laying a thick layer of mulch, you must now water the bamboo. Maintaining your bamboo garden is quite easy. It depends on the soil and weather condition. Before watering the bamboo plants, you must check if the soil is sufficiently dry.
The thinning procedure can start after the first year. Older bamboo can be removed and clumps can be separated to allow for fresh shoots to grow. Bamboo plants are any gardener’s delight. They are easy to maintain and add elegance and beauty to the garden.
