A noisy washing machine is not necessarily a sign that something is broken, but it definitely can be annoying and is a frequent problem for many. Fixing noisy washing machine is easy but only after it has been determined what the caused the noise in the first place. You can check the drum bearings if the washing machine is making a rumbling noise. The noise can also come due to water getting into the bearings. For this, take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. In case there is a rumble, remove the bearings and replace them with new ones. You can also check the spider at the back of the drum, which is a three-armed device that holds the drum in place. When spider becomes loose, it makes a loud noise. For this, tighten the bolts on the spider and silence the noise.
Then check for coins in case the noise coming from the washing machine sounds like metal on metal. Maybe some change slipped from a pocket and is now in the dryer. A flashlight can be used and you can look in the drum for coins, paper clips and other small items. Fixing noisy washing machine sometimes requires adjusting the legs of the washing machine as many machines become noisy when are not properly balanced. Whilst a cheap washing machine might be more commonly afflicted with this problem, this is not always the case. Simply, re-adjust the legs of the washing machine so that they are all even and balanced. This will help in fixing noisy washing machine by stabilising it and keep it from moving while also will ensuring that the noise goes away. Also, you can replace the drive belt. Often a worn down drive belt can create a high-pitched squeaky noise. This can be checked by simply replacing the old belt with a new one.
