During any cooking process it is normal for us to spill on the cook tops. Cooking by itself is really a messy affair and all it takes is some quick cleaning up of the grime to have your cook top in gleaming condition once again. No one will ever know that a spill has taken place. However if you allow the grime to accumulate without an effective instant clean up, then you will have some extra hard work to do to get that grime off your cook top. Here are some hints on cleaning various cook tops.
Ceramic cook tops have glass on their surface while the heating elements are below. Use a non-abrasive cleanser or some baking soda to remove the grime using a soft sponge. It is advisable never to clean up with a wet sponge while the panel is still hot. Never use cleaning products that could leave scratches on your cook top and avoid abrasive cleansers.
Gas and Electric stovetops and ranges have baked on porcelain enamel for their exteriors. The trim is made from chrome while the control knobs are of plastic. The best way to clean these types of stoves, like the Leisure CM 10 for example, is clean the surface, especially around the heating elements, with a clean wet sponge. The use of steel wool or any form of harsh abrasives is to be avoided as they could cause harm to the enamel finish of the stove.
Have the reflector bowls or drip pans washed in warm soapy solution to remove any spilled grease. The gas burners in the stove need to be washed occasionally and the holes require to be cleaned with a fine wire to remove any obstructions caused by grime. It is best to avoid using tooth picks for cleaning the holes as they are likely to break and then clog the hole. The plastic knobs are detachable and can be cleaned separately.
