A dishwasher is one of the most commonly used appliances all over the world. The device is used to clean dishes and utensils. Installing dishwashers is not a difficult job but you need to follow some simple steps. You can easily install a dishwasher yourself and save a very high installation fee. The first and foremost thing is to make sure that the dishwasher you own will fit in the opening. A standard dishwasher requires around 24 inch opening but it is recommended that you should measure the width before hand.
Now you will have to drill one or more holes according to the cabinet configuration. These holes will help run electrical wires and supply lines. You can use a drilling machine to drill some larger diameter holes. The next step for the majority of dishwashers involves removing the faceplate from the base of the machine so that you can access the supply line and the electrical box. You should always connect wiring supply and drain before actually pushing the machine into its cabinet. Now you will have to connect the drainpipe to a discharge pump. Then you will have to mount the air gap and then secure it with spring clamps. The next step is very important as you will have to run the drain pipe to the inlet of garbage disposal. Now you should secure it using a clamp.
Another very important step is to connect the supply lines. Now you will have to connect the electrical supply by running the cable through the dishwasher’s back. While connecting the electrical supply you should also remember to connect the ground wire.
