The oven requires cleaning on a regular basis. You can use the self-cleaning feature in the oven and here is how you go about the whole process. The first thing is to remove all the racks and food debris if any from inside the oven. Any remnants of food required to be removed in order to avoid odour, smoke and the risk of a fire in your kitchen. Any bad mess must be scrubbed to help reduce the spill. Incineration becomes easier.
If your oven has sugary spills, use your hands to clean them. When the sugary spills are incinerated, they can cause damage to the enamel surface of the oven. Fortunately, most modern ovens today, like the CDA Built-in double oven DC930SS, for example, come with a self-cleaning feature. Before engaging said feature the doorframe and door seal should first be removed of grease that may stick around its edges. If you have birds for pets, it is advisable to remove them to another place that is well ventilated and far from the oven. When self-cleaning takes place, toxic fumes are released that can cause harm to the birds.
The range hood ventilator has to be switched on to lead the smoke, odour and fumes away. Make sure your windows are open. Next, set the oven in self cleaning mode. There maybe several controls that requires to be set in order to start the self cleaning cycle. Lock your oven. Set the manual timer if your oven has one. The oven door should never be opened when self-cleaning process is taking place. After the incineration process, your oven may be hot for several hours so stay away from it.
